Background:</b> Within contemporary medical education systems dominated by the biomedical paradigm, medical students commonly experience a decline in empathy alongside uncertainty in professional identity formation. Narrative medicine, as an educational approach designed to bridge objective technical reasoning and subjective human experience, has been proposed as a response to this humanistic crisis. However, the psychological mechanisms underlying its effects, the boundaries of existing empirical evidence, and strategies for systematic implementation remain insufficiently clarified. <b>Content:</b> Drawing on a comprehensive review of the literature, this article elucidates two core theoretical mechanisms through which narrative medicine operates. First, through the cycle of attention, representation, and affiliation combined with reflective practice, narrative medicine facilitates the coordinated development of cognitive empathy and emotional resonance. Second, through narrative integration, it supports learners in transforming fragmented clinical experiences into coherent professional identities. A synthesis of empirical studies published over the past decade indicates that well designed narrative medicine curricula can enhance reflective capacity, communication skills, and a sense of professional meaning, although their effectiveness is substantially moderated by curricular intensity, pedagogical modality including digital and multimodal approaches, and cultural context. <b>Conclusion:</b> The integration of narrative medicine currently faces structural barriers, including limited curricular space, the scarcity of standardized assessment tools, and insufficient faculty development. Future efforts should adopt implementation science frameworks to shift from isolated elective offerings toward longitudinal spiral curricula, develop multidimensional evaluation strategies, and explore the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality in narrative pedagogy. These efforts may establish narrative medicine as a foundational pathway for cultivating physicians with core humanistic competencies.

Stigma surrounding drug addiction remains a critical barrier to effective treatment, significantly influencing healthcare access, patient engagement, and recovery outcomes. This study explores the multifaceted impact of stigma on individuals seeking help for substance use disorders (SUDs), with a focus on healthcare-related discrimination, internalized stigma, and structural barriers. Research indicates that negative perceptions among healthcare providers contribute to delayed treatment-seeking behaviors, reduced adherence to medication-assisted treatment (MAT), and increased relapse rates. Additionally, patients internalizing these societal judgments experience heightened psychological distress, social isolation, and decreased self-efficacy, further hindering their recovery process. To address these challenges, evidence-based strategies such as addiction medicine education, trauma-informed care, harm reduction approaches, and peer support models have been shown to effectively reduce stigma and improve treatment outcomes. Hospital administrators and nursing leaders play a critical role in fostering a culture of empathy, advocating for the reframing of addiction as a neuro-psycho-biological disease rather than a moral failing. Future research should explore digital mental health interventions, motivational interviewing techniques, and interdisciplinary collaboration to further dismantle stigma and enhance the effectiveness of addiction treatment programs. This study highlights the urgent need for systemic policy changes, targeted educational programs, and a shift in clinical attitudes to create a more inclusive and stigma-free healthcare environment. Through implementing these approaches, healthcare providers can ensure equitable access to treatment and improve long-term health outcomes for individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) and other substance-related conditions.

Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a chronic degenerative joint disorder that significantly impairs mobility and quality of life. While surgical interventions such as total knee arthroplasty (TKA) are effective in severe cases, conservative treatments are critical for early and intermediate disease management. This review evaluates the efficacy, safety, and clinical applications of both conservative and surgical treatment approaches, including lifestyle modifications, physical therapy, pharmacological interventions, regenerative medicine, and surgical procedures. The integration of a multidisciplinary approach is emphasized as a key strategy for optimizing clinical outcomes and tailoring interventions to disease severity.

DTx can bridge this gap by offering cost-effective solutions that are easily scalable. Moreover, digital therapeutics can address health inequities by providing low-cost interventions to underserved populations, thereby reducing the burden of NCDs and improving overall health outcomes. As technology continues to evolve, the potential for DTx to enhance longevity and quality of life becomes increasingly promising. Recent advancements in longevity medicine and technology have focused on extending both lifespan and healthspan, ensuring that people not only live longer but also maintain good health throughout their extended years. This review article highlights these advancements that are contributing to this compelling subject of Longevity.

Over recent years, significant advancements in synthetic methodologies and manufacturing technologies have transformed API production. This manuscript provides an overview of the latest innovations in API synthesis, focusing on key techniques such as green chemistry, continuous flow chemistry, biocatalysis, and automation. Green chemistry principles, including solvent substitution and catalytic reactions, have enhanced sustainability by reducing waste and energy consumption. Continuous flow chemistry offers improved reaction control, scalability, and safety, while biocatalysis provides an eco-friendly alternative for synthesizing complex and chiral APIs. Additionally, the integration of automation and advanced process control using machine learning and real-time monitoring has optimized production efficiency and consistency. The manuscript also discusses the challenges associated with regulatory compliance and quality assurance, highlighting the role of advanced analytical techniques such as HPLC, NMR, and mass spectrometry in ensuring API purity. Mobile apps and telemedicine platforms enable patients to receive support and guidance from anywhere, reducing the need for frequent in-person visits. Additionally, DTx often include behavioral support features like reminders, educational content, and motivational tools, which are crucial for maintaining healthy habits and managing stress. Currently, the dynamics of DTx in diabetes are rapidly evolving, with increasing integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning to further personalize and optimize care. As the adoption of these technologies grows, they hold the potential to significantly improve patient outcomes and revolutionize diabetes management on a global scale. This article will focus on the benefits of novel digital therapeutics for prevention and management of type II diabetes that are currently available in the market.

Making students efficiently and flexibly understand and master the knowledge of biological/biomedical sciences by prompting active learning and critical thinking and making biomedical science courses form an integrated system are critical for more successful and effective student education, future and career. However, the current biological/biomedical education system worldwide tends to produce graduates best suited for postdoctoral training, and academic careers, in highly specialized areas. Many institutions worldwide currently favor densely packed curricula with fast-paced instruction focused on detailed subject matter, with little room left for skill training in both active learning and critical thinking, creative problem solving, professional skills, putting what was learned into a larger context that creates meaning, and teaching students with different learning styles, despite their significance. In this article, we will discuss the current defects in biological/biomedical science education and the need to reform biomedical science teaching and education. We will also describe some suggestions and approaches to improve biological/biomedical science learning and education, including the establishment of a more effective learning/teaching repository.

The teaching-learning relationship of natural medicine is key to avoid health problems in the population; adulterations and falsifications of frequently used plants are evident. The aim of this study is to raise public awareness and to urge institutions to incorporate contents in the student's curriculum. The curricula of different educational levels are analyzed to check the level of knowledge on the use of medicinal plants, as well as some regulations on quality controls. Of the wide range of species that are consumed by the population, some are detected in which adulterations and falsifications occur, although there is no danger in some cases, such as chamomiles, if a falsification occurs when consuming the whole plant instead of the flowering tops, which is where the properties reside. In other cases, adulteration occurs, generally unintentional, but very dangerous to health, such as horsetail. For a more effective quality control, we need public awareness and highly specialized personnel, with the capacity to inspect crops, markets and companies.

This paper leverages gene and cell therapy research in diverse disorders ranging from monogenic to infectious diseases to cancer and emerging breakthroughs, where one can harness individual genes or a synthetic gene sequence designed based on a shared molecular pattern in infected cells to better fight various disorders [1]. A pivotal task is to predict the performances of candidate gene therapies to guide clinical translational research using methods such as retrospective bioinformatic analyses. Implementing them to a large-scale gene therapy database reveals that it is feasible to construct and apply well-performing interpretable, supervised learning models [2]. Preliminary evidence of machine learning approaches' statistical significance helps clinicians and biomedical researchers, market participants, and regulatory and economic experts derive relevant, practical applications, thereby enhancing the deployment of gene therapy and genomics to achieve positive, long-term growth for humanity while alleviating the ongoing worldwide economic burden precipitated by prolonged and recurring diseases. Deploying machine learning techniques to accelerate gene and cell therapy drug development and trials shall also mitigate the existing obstacle of limited patient access to emerging, transformative medical innovations such as gene therapy due to skyrocketing prices, which often herald gene therapy products as the world's most expensive medicines [3]. Moreover, in preventing patients from accessing effective, life-saving genetic medicines, there commonly exists a multidimensional access gap encompassing the availability, affordability, and quality or acceptability of these clinical treatments. The ensuing substantial gap has repeatedly been documented and mainly emanates from differential institutional and socio-political choices around resource allocation at international and domestic levels [4]. Particularly, it is also due to the stringent licensure and regulatory approval processes underpinned by insufficient evidence for novel safety and clinical efficacy profiles for genetic therapies in multiple micro-local diagnoses and subpopulations. We believe that a higher likelihood of gene therapy adoption shall result when the clinical evidence path contains adequate representation from the most diverse and relevant patient populations [5].

A comprehensive analysis was carried out to explain the benefits of adopting enterprise system for pharmaceutical drug traceability. Counterfeit drugs are medicines that are fake and have been produced using incorrect potency, or incorrect ingredients used to manufacture these drugs. Solving the drug counterfeiting problems by identifying the most effective and innovative technologies for protecting people's health is of essence these days for the world. Drug serialization is essential concept for drug traceability in the pharmaceutical supply chain. Blockchain is the latest stringent technology that makes drug distribution more secure in the supply chain. The blockchain-based drug traceability is a distributed shared data platform that shares information that is irreversible, reliable, responsible, and transparent in the PSC. Blockchain uses two powerful module, Hyperledger Fabric and Besu to satisfy important criteria for medication traceability, such as privacy, trust, transparency, security, authorization and authentication, and scalability. Researchers in Health informatics can use blockchain designs as a useful road map to develop and implement end-to-end pharmaceutical drug traceability in the supply chain to prevent drug counterfeiting. Industrial IoT is also a key component for the pharmaceutical industry. IoT systems in pharmaceutical drug traceability can be beneficial as they are based on automation and computational methodologies.

Counterfeit drugs—medications that are fraudulently manufactured, mislabeled, or contain incorrect or harmful ingredients—are a major concern as they can lead to ineffective treatments, adverse health effects, and even death. Despite stringent regulatory frameworks and advanced technological solutions, counterfeit drugs continue to infiltrate legitimate supply chains due to factors such as the complexity of the distribution system, global trade practices, and inadequate enforcement in certain regions. This manuscript explores the primary causes behind the proliferation of counterfeit drugs in pharmaceutical distribution, the associated risks, and the multifaceted approaches required to address this growing threat. It discusses the importance of regulatory measures, including international cooperation and stronger compliance frameworks, as well as the role of emerging technologies like serialization, blockchain, and RFID in ensuring traceability and product authenticity. By focusing on the integration of these technologies, the paper also highlights the potential of innovative solutions to enhance transparency, reduce vulnerabilities, and protect the integrity of pharmaceutical supply chains. Neurodegeneration and aging are pressing issues with significant personal, economic, ethical, and social consequences. However, the underlying biological mechanisms of these conditions remain largely unknown, making the development of effective treatments challenging. The difficulty in early detection and diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases further compounds the issue. Recent advancements in genetics, genomics, and brain imaging technology hold great promise for improving our understanding of neurodegeneration and aging, as well as the development of personalized medicine and new drugs and therapies. Addressing these challenges will require a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach from researchers in various fields. Acupuncture is an alternative medicine, actually it has had a greater acceptance in our continent being use for multiple therapeutic purposes. Although it is a minimally invasive procedure it is not exempt from complications, most common minor complications such as infections or local pain have been described, as well as less frequently but potentially fatal complications such as subarachnoid hemorrhage and tension pneumothorax. We report a case of pneumothorax secondary to acupuncture in a patient who was treated for carpal tunnel syndrome.

The world health organization also predicted that 4 out of 10 medicines in developing and poor countries are either fake or potentially adulterated. Counterfeit drugs cost billions of dollars deficit to world economy and reduce research and development (R&#x26;D) funds allocation from organizations. Stopping counterfeit medicine into supply chain is main challenge for Government and regulatory authorities. The Government and regulatory authorities are now making stringent guidelines to prohibit criminals and counterfeiters to supply fake medicine in markets. Healthcare industry need stringent regulations and secure technologies provide sage and authentic drugs to patients. The FDA has published the 10 years roadmap to implement the drug traceability in United States. The Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA) has also mandated to print several barcodes and human readable data in product packaging hierarchy. The FDA is participating in pilot project with leading pharmaceutical drug manufacturer and wholesales to use blockchain technology in interoperable digital network for securing digital traceability data transfer between authorized trading partners.

We hoped to demonstrate tremendous opportunities for the application of healthcare via therapeutic tools online in telemedicine to manage such conditions in a developing country like Bangladesh with a severe scarcity of healthcare infrastructure and resources.
